I am very excited to now be stocking Tony's Chocolonely. Did you know that there are over 2 million children working illegally in the cocoa supply chain in West Africa? 60% of the worlds Cocoa is produced in Ghana and the Ivory Coast and the average farmer only earns 78 Euro Cents a day with an estimated 30,000 people also being used as a modern slavery workforce! This is massively disproportionate to the amount of profit that the big chocolate companies make. Tony's deliberately choose to work in Ghana and the Ivory Coast providing a decent income to 8,457 farmers whilst also providing agricultural education!
Not just a classic milk chocolate bar, but their classic chocolate bar. It was the first bar they ever made, back in 2005. They gave it a screaming red wrapper to attract attention to their main mission - 100% slave-free chocolate.
